Maverick is a 7-8 year old trail horse that appears to be a Rocky Mountain mix. I haven’t DNA tested him but he has the silver dapple gene. He has a solid, stocky build. 14.1 HH. He has very nice ground manners and is respectful of your space. Easy to approach and halters politely, leads, tacks up, clips, bathes, and is great for the farrier. Friendly and not people shy. You can handle any part of him. He loads great but needs more practice unloading. He’ll stand tied quietly off the rail or trailer for tacking up. Maverick has been used and exposed to trails only. He has a fast walk but is quiet and great on the trail, and will walk through and over anything. He walks calmly and does not rush uphill or downhill. He prefers to lead but will follow. He is very sensitive to leg pressure and will go when asked. Neck reins. He’ll side-pass to open and close gates. He has also been trained on hobbles. Maverick is an awesome horse who is young enough to go in any direction you want to take him. He is a very quick-learner. Because of his age, an Intermediate and up rider is recommended.
