Wyatt is a phenomenal trail gelding and is super easy to have around. I have used him for lessons for kids of all ages. I don't use him for the complete beginners due to his motor but he's a fabulous step up horse once they know how to control their bodies. He gets along with everyone in the herd both mares and geldings. Before I got him he had about 5 years off so hasn't been overused. The people I got him from had him for 5 years and drove him the first summer but then life got in the way and he was mostly a pasture ornament. When they bought him they were told that although he was mostly used driving in parades he was also broke to ride but had never ridden him. When we got him home we did a little ground work and went to riding.

He has NEVER offered anything nasty. No buck or rear whatsoever. He has a bit of a motor and likes to move out but can slow his trot down to a nice even pace. He was a little confused about cantering but can now canter on both leads nicely. We have been working on him with accepting contact and he is getting the idea of how to give to the bit. He does not neck rein or work off of leg pressure. We have started both but having a mostly driving background it doesn't come easy to him.

I have driven him and I would say he wouldn't be for a beginner driver. He stood very nicely to be harnessed and hitched but got a little hot and was quite forward once we were going. I don't drive often and didn't feel uncomfortable driving him, he was just a man on a mission to somewhere.

Wyatt is excellent on trails. He is used to the dogs racing around and is not spooky. The one time I did have him spook he planted his feet. He really seems to enjoy the trails more than the arena. He has a forward ground covering walk and could go for HOURS. He doesn't seem to get tired easily. He will cross water without issue and is happy to lead, follow or bring up the rear. He could definitely keep up with your gaited friends!

Wyatt will occasionally walk away when you go to catch him. He always gives up pretty quickly. He will stand tied or in cross ties. He has spent countless hours on a patience pole with no issues. He is great for grooming and tacking up. He is fabulous for the vet and farrier. He is currently barefoot as our trails are mostly grass. He does have a current coggins that was pulled last month. He had a dental done this spring and is current on all shots. I was told he was 14 when I bought him but my vet said based on his teeth during his dental she would age him closer to 16 or 17, so I put 17 on his coggins. He is easy to load and unload. He is great for baths as well. He is mid to lower in the pecking order.

The only reason he is being listed for sale is that I need to expand my barn and need the funds to do so.
