Scotty was born and raised on my place as a prospect for me as my last horse to take me through my 80’s. As life goes, as much as I’d like to keep him he is too tall and a bit more horse than I need at this stage of the game. That’s my story, now this is his. Scotty has been off with trainer Izzy Olsen for 60 days, and is coming along well. He is still growing and is pushing 15.2 and is starting to muscle up and fill out. All The basics are there: longeing, ground driving, saddling, taking the bit, mounting, walk, trot. He is started on his lope, haunch turns, two tracking, yielding to pressure etc. That said, going into the lope he does sometimes want to pitch a bit so he will need an experienced rider/trainer who has a seat that can work through this and keep him forward. I don’t think it will take much to accomplish this. Scotty had the conformation to win, well proportioned, and natural headset. His color sets him apart from other horses and is always commented on when he has been out. He is designated “N” because he lacks Appy markings. Scotty has been ponied everywhere, highlined, done bridges and lots of water. Ranch riding would be a great venue for him. Lots of cow in his pedigree (Two Eyed Jack, Little Steel Dust, Major Bonanza, Zans Parr Bar )he has the moves. Pitty the chicken that has gotten into his pen…..it’s fine😁 He is 5 panel negative by parentage, UTD on standard vaccines/worming, trimmed every 8 wks.
