Charleston is a 6 year old 1/2 Friesian 1/4 Percheron 1/4 Quarter Horse gelding standing 16.1 hands high. "Charlie" has something for every rider to enjoy. He has the brains to make a fantastic Hunt parter, the movement to go up the levels as a dressage horse, brave heart to event, and the quiet nature to be a trail horse for yourself or the husband. A rider with upper level aspirations would enjoy him just as much as someone who just wants a safe and sturdy trail horse would. Charleston is an easy keeper, easy to love, and safe both on the ground and in the saddle. He is as close to unflappable as they come, and always tries his hardest for his rider. In the ring, Charleston has three quality gaits that are comfortable and easy to ride. He has great brakes, and listens well to seat and voice cues. Charlie will ride on the bit or on a loose rein, and is quickly getting a hang of basic lateral work. Charlie will be safe and easy for anyone to bring along and up the levels. He is safe end forgiving for a timid or inexperienced rider, and is absolutely amateur safe! We have started Charleston over fences in the ring and out. He is brave and honest to pop over logs, coupes, and walls in the field. On the trails and off property, Charleston is a barn favorite. He can be trusted for anyone to take on a trail ride. Traffic, ATVs, deer, and cows are of no concern to Charlie. He is happy leading the way, or following along in the group. He enjoys hunter paces, trail rides, or going off property to do a ride with new people and horses. We have hauled him out to various other farms to do hunter paces, trail rides, and xc schooling, he calmly comes off the trailer and gets right to work. In the barn, Charleston is a sweet and friendly gentleman. If you want a horse with personality, look no further. He is the ultimate silly goose, love-bug, of a horse. He’s in your pocket, and would love to follow you home and live in your house. He is a good boy for all of the usual barn activities like grooming, tacking, and bathing. He stands to clip, is easy to load, trailers well, and is well behaved for the vet and farrier. He is quiet, kind, and in your pocket, without being pushy. Charleston is available to be tried at our farm in Clover, SC by appointment. Interested in bringing Charleston home? Give us a call today!
