Broke 14 y/o Dark Bay Thoroughbred measuring 16.2 hands up for rehoming to the right pasture. Jazz is a pleasant ride with a big gallop and a dreamy canter. She needs a home better suited for her needs and activities more geared towards her breed. I’ll lay it out easy and up front. Cons: She has tender feet and due to this, isn’t 100% sound at this time. She can be a little pushy on the ground and spicy in the saddle, but has never acted in a way that was unmanageable. When corrected under saddle, she lifts her nose way up in the air as if to protest. Pros: Has had formal training, Very kind, even temperament, stands for the farrier, trailers easy and she even loads herself. Has been camping many times at the coast and up in the mountains. “Middle of the road” kind of keeper. Has never offered to kick, buck, or rear in the six years that I’ve known her. Very interested in trail rides and loves being opened up in a wide space. Jazz would thrive in a stall/arena setting where she can be a properly pampered Thoroughbred and worked on a regular basis to smooth out some of her kinks. She would make a fine 4H horse for an intermediate rider, good prospect for English or Western Equitation. She is a good horse but not the right fit for my style of riding. With consistent work and attention she could really shine. Please reach out to me to see pictures, videos. I’d be happy to share with you.
