Max spent his younger years in Texas as a ranch horse. He was doctoring cattle, used on branding day, worked the sale barns, and day worked on the big ranches. He then spent two years in Missouri as a family horse. Max has been shown in (2) ARHA shows in ranch riding, ranch trail, youth W/T and horsemanship. He spent (2) years packing around two children and trail riding packing around their grandmother. He has been used for leadline and ponying around smaller children as well. Max can sit for an entire year and be the exact same max that you left him as.
He works great in the arena. Collects up well on the bit. Rides leg to hand. Has a legit one hand neck rein and handles great. Responsive to leg ques and moves off leg well. You can turn him loose and work him one handed in split reins or Romels. He listens extremely well to his riders seat and what’s asked of him. He will walk, trot, and lope as slow or as fast as you ask him to. Catches both leads well. Backs with ease and will side pass if asked correctly. Max has been used in lessons teaching new riders- advanced riders how to ride. He is very tolerant of someone with a bouncy unbalanced seat, tolerates a rider who cannot use their leg correctly and squeezes him by accident and is tolerant of a new rider who may accidentally hang on his face. He is pretty auto pilot on the trails and will go wherever you ask him to. Crossing over logs, trees, ditches, bridges, water etc.
Max can be turned loose on the trails alone or in a group and will not run off with his rider. He is not barn or buddy sour when rode out alone. Max is the ideal guy for your children or family’s needs. He is always eager to please and always aims to impress. There is nothing new that you could introduce to him that he’s not willing to learn and accept. He is ready for his next child, family or ranch home to live the rest of his days with. He is the absolute best with the farrier and ground ties for the farrier. He is barefoot and does not require shoes but will go shod if that’s what you prefer. He is up to date on all routine work. Stands tied for grooming, bathing, saddling, tying. He has a great personality and will become your best buddy in no time. Works in a simple short shank. He has No vices and requires No maintenance.
