Pocahontas is a 13 year old Appaloosa mare, she is ridden western and can be ridden bareback as well. She is a little stubborn at times so an intermediate rider is a must if riding out on trails. If you’re looking for a horse that would love for you to hangout with them all day this is your girl. She lunges, picks up her feet, stands nicely tied up, loads in the trailer and is easy to tack up. She’s a good horse for trails and has sturdy feet so she doesn’t need shoes. She does well in a group, can be a little stubborn by herself but just getting her past the stubbornness part, she’s good after that. She’s first in line when it comes to the pecking order in the herd. Has never been aggressive towards anyone has never bit or kicked me. She has had kids ridden on her in a pen being ponied around and she does great. She’s very laid-back when it comes to walking in a pen and sitting there. If you haven’t ridden her in a while, a lunge is always a good refresher for her just to make sure she’s listening.
