Indio is a gorgeous gelding that absolutely loves to please! He's 15.2 and 11 years old so has tons of experience! Indio was born and trained in Mexico and his current owner purchased him at 5 and gelded him right away. He's ridden in the mountains and fields of Mexico for 6 years. Been on trails in Pisgah Forest, NC and Big South Fork, TN for 2 years Indio worked cattle, was trained to dance in place, lay down, bow and sit!! Owner did countless parades in Mexico while dressed in costumes! He's was Ridden on cobblestone streets with trucks and motorcycles going by, charging dogs, and strollers. On the beach at the lake, thru town with all the store fronts and cars!! Indio has camped with his owner, done obstacle courses with her and even ponied her younger Friesian!! Owner also took Dressage lessons with him and he caught on so quick to it we think this is where he will excel with more training and perfect for someone just getting into Dressage so they can learn together with a trainer! Owner brought him to TN 2 years ago and he's not had a lot of riding so she has sent him to KY to Deuces Wild Stables to get muscled up! We have a friend that does Dressage and she has been riding Indio to see what all he remembers and it's coming back to him real quick! Indio has a nice Walk, Trot & Canter, he can do a little dressage but he is rusty as you can see in his video but he is so willing to learn!! On the trails he's very sure footed, goes in water, mud over logs and different terrains are no problem! He was also ground driven before so he could be trained to drive also! What I love about Indio is his wonderful calm personality!! I honestly can say anyone could ride him with basic riding skills! He is very obedient on the ground and in the saddle. He gets along with other horses in the pasture, first one to come to you in the field and loves being pampered!! Owner has sent off his DNA to see what percentage of Friesian he is and new owner can register him with Heritage! She was told he's 75% Friesian 25% Qtr horse but she should have the results back any day! Indio stands great for the Farrier, mounting with a block, stands patiently in cross ties, bathing, leads and trailer loads great! He is up to date on his vaccines, worming, shoes, teeth, coggins and health certificate. This sweet boy is perfect for so many things that it really depends on what his new owner wants to do! Trail riding, arena riding, parades and dressage! He would also be great for a younger person to ride! Watch his video to see how wonderful Indio is!!
