Flash is a super thick and flashy in-your-pocket bay gelding with a heart of gold. In spite of his name he is actually slow, chill and laid back. He comes to us started in western dressage and working equitation and he has been ridden by kids and adults on the ranch and out at shows. Flash has an extremely comfortable sitting trot, smooth transitions, and a gentle rocking horse lope. He’s been ridden Western and English and handled both with ease. He picks up both leads, side passes beautifully, drags things, even runs the barrel pattern - albeit slow and steady. On trail Flash goes over downed logs, crosses deep water, handles rocky terrain. All of this and he will greet you in the stall, put his head on your shoulder, and follow you around like a puppy. Flash is an old soul and a laid back, easy going horse for his years. He loves a leisurely trail ride and has also proven himself to be a nice arena horse too. We feel like he could go in pretty much any direction you’d like. For a young horse we feel Flash is about as husband safe and kid safe as you can get. He does great with deep water crossings, tarps, balls, dogs, cars, tractors, coyotes, dirt bikes, motorcycles, quads or anything else we have walked him over or thrown at him. My 6 year old can trailer load him, wash him, touch him anywhere, and walk him all around the ranch. He has been ridden by beginners, used for lessons and he has patiently babysat every rider on different trails, on the road and in the arena. We have turned him out on pasture with several other geldings without any trouble. I can’t say enough good things about him for a family looking for a safe, calm and friendly trail horse. He has experience in the arena, and on trail. Flash is dual registered AQHA and APHA with a set of papers that will make our paint horse folks drool and for those of you who have been eyeing our own Johnny Cash over the years, look no further. Flash has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance. More gentle horses available on our website www.lazyoakshorses.com
