"Moxie" is a 7 year old mare that has had professional training and been well started on trails at Otter Creek, Brookfield, and Sugar Hill in NY. We estimate that she has done at least 500 miles on rugged trails and even across Otter Creek in belly deep water in the lead! She is up-to date on all health care and barefoot trimming. Moxie hops on the trailer and is good for the farrier and vet. She can be excited at the beginning of a ride, but with a consistent and experienced rider she settles quickly. She's just happy to go out and see the sights. She is not a speed demon either, she can lead or follow and be happy. We can mount on the trail from a rock, stump, or hillside and she stands well. She uses crossties, highlines, straight stalls or portable paddocks with no issues. She is very food motivated, so she is always easy to catch and will do just about anything for carrots. We will be sad to see her go, but imminent knee surgery (not horse related) means we need to make changes.
