Octavian Von Dalosto "Octavian" is a 2018 (6 yr old) Turbo Friesian gelding double registered with Friesian Heritage Horse & Sporthorse International and Half Arabian Horse Registration. Octavian is 15.2 & 1/2 - stick measured today, and he weighs 1250 lbs. He turns heads wherever he goes and has a great personality. Come see him in person! He's gorgeous. He gets bronzed in the sun, as you see in the pictures, but he looks solid black usually. He loves to be groomed and loved on. He is a moderately forward ride. Currently ridden by confident AA, and not suited to brand new riders as he has some spook and is more forward when not in consistent work. He does best when ridden regularly, and he's pretty chill when in consistent work. He will be one of those horses you can hop on and go anytime once he has matured a bit more. I have not been able to ride as consistently as he'd prefer, and I'd love to see him with someone who has the time. He can become a little herd bound while getting settled in a new barn. He was started by a western trainer as a three year old, and I bought him as a four year old and ride english. I'm a casual rider, so he does not have show experience. He has been used for arena and trail rides. He can be stalled or turned out, but he would prefer not to be stalled in 12x12 full-time. Has been turned out with mares and geldings. Stands great for farrier. Trailers and loads with the quirk of sometimes wanting to get in and then come back out once before going in to stay the second time. I have no trouble loading him as you see in the videos. He is UTD on vaccines and dental. He is NOT suitable for jumping. He would be best for flat work, lower level showing, trail riding, or just being the prettiest horse in the pasture and buddy to his person. He was put in front shoes with pads in August and may require some maintenance down the road for left front lateral side bone. PM me for more information and records. He was meant to be my riding horse, including jumping, after I retired my other boy. Finding him a new home is a hard decision. He's pretty cool. Open to in-barn partial lease. Contact me for videos and photos. They are most easily sent through Messenger.
