Pixar is a lovely, grade half-Arab gelding seeking the right person. We believe him to be a National Show Horse (Saddlebred x Arabian), 12-14 years old, and he stands about 15.3hh. He has excellent feet, huge bone, and solid conformation. His personality is gentle and willing, and he's sensitive but not spooky. Pixar's past is murky but he bears some signs of poor handling/management, including windpuffs and mildly frostbitten ear tips, plus some anxiety about being ridden. I took him about 16 months ago because he'd bucked several people off and the owner didn't feel like the right match. At the time, he had gastric ulcers and needed some bodywork; these physical issues (which likely contributed to the behavior) are now resolved so he looks and feels fantastic. He has not bucked with me, though he's nervous being ridden, particularly in an enclosed space like an arena. He is much more confident and happy on the trail. Pixar has been used for mountain riding and has excellent ground manners. He's very curious, kind, sensitive, and eager to spend time with his human. He's not a beginner or kids horse, but would easily work into a packing situation for hunting season. He is very well desensitized but needs to build confidence under saddle specifically. Since he hasn't had much work the past few months, I would recommend spending some time on groundwork and getting to know Pixar before resuming riding. A skilled, kind rider who can spend consistent time with him (that's my problem and the reason I'm selling) could build a beautiful partner. At this time, Pixar would be appropriate for: 1) Packing 2) Liberty work 3) Companion 4) Project for a patient trainer who can help him past his anxiety under saddle Pixar does not require any special maintenance. He's an easy keeper and is up to date on dental and hoof care. He ties, trailer loads, and gets along in a herd. Price negotiable to the right home, as this is a special soul and my priority is finding him the right hands in which he'll excel.
