Luna is a beautiful mare looking for a new home as owner is going to graduate school. Luna is currently up to date with vaccines, teeth, and farrier. She is easy to catch, ties and loads well into trailers. When owner had more time, Luna used to compete in both dressage and show jumping. She has done a few weekend cross country clinics. This was a few years ago. I believe she would make a great eventer with some work and patience! She is a bold athletic mare with lovely movement. She is an extremely fun ride and is a typical mare in that if you gain her trust she will try her heart out for her rider. Currently, she is ridden for pleasure and has done some trail rides out. She would require some fitness but could get back into the lower levels of dressage and jumping. I have also ridden Luna bareback with only a neck strap! She is a smart mare and I have had no issues leaving her months at a time and then getting on and picking up where we left off. Luna is a big bold athletic mare and as such I would not recommend her for beginner riders or new to horse’s people. She requires someone to hold firm boundaries and maintain a calm demeanor. She responds best to a gentle but firm training and riding approach. Luna has a few cosmetic scars on her legs from being run through a fence as a yearling (before I got her) and a few other mishaps where she slipped on ice/ mud in the field and cut herself. She does have the common melanomas that grey horses are prone to on her head. This has not impacted her in any way other then I have had to adjust the bridle around it. Overall, she is healthy and sound! Ideally, looking for an experienced rider home that wants a horse to have fun riding. Currently located at a stable near Springbank, Alberta. $10,000 (willing to negotiate to good home), Full Lease Available
