FHF Shot o Whiskey [Jack] is an incredible Gypsy Vanner stallion. He has been primarily used for breeding on our farm and has sired foals who have gone on to excel in the show ring and as family or recreational horses. He is generous with his feathering, beautiful movement, and sweet head. Jack is also green broke to ride and drive, although these are not skills that we use consistently. He is tested PSSM and FIS negative, and his color genetics are Ee aa In the breeding shed, Jack is eager but easy to handle. He will live cover in hand or pasture breed. He also knows how to jump the dummy and collect, though I've not found the right protocol for chilling/shipping. With a good repro vet or stallion facility he could likely be a candidate for an AI sire. Although very green, Jack took to both riding and driving with no issues at all. He has always been driven double, with our other Gypsy stallion as a teammate, but could easily be taught to pull single. He's spent some time in the woods practicing with our logging crew and also pulled the sled for the kids at Christmas. Jack lives in a bachelor band with 3 other stallions. He's also been housed with mares and foals and on his own. When living alone he will pace the fenceline but is very respectful of the fence. He is an easy keeper who is maintained on pasture/hay and goes barefoot. The only reason Jack is for sale is that we've added a second Gypsy stallion while also selling a couple of mares so we have no need for 2 studs to cover 3 mares. I've dragged my feet for a couple of years now on listing him but with a new baby on the way it's time that Jack moves on to make someone else's Gypsy dreams come true, as a herd sire or a wonderful family/show gelding. Jack is located in Mercer, PA.
