First French Arrow or “Arrow” is a six-year-old gray gelding. I haven’t taped him, but he’s probably just under 15 hands. I have owned him since he was a weanling and we just have no clicked. I have spent lots of my time working with him, but he is not working for what I need. I will be honest about him because he has a past and some quirks. He will be a project. He is not finished. He will need quite a bit of attention and time from anyone who buys him. The time I’ve spent with him and his loud personality I’ve noticed he does get along better with men. he is not a beginner safe horse, he is considered green at this point. He will need an experienced rider. I am advertising him as a Ranch/Feedlot prospect. He first spent 90 days with a Trainer getting to know the basics. After that, he spent 210 days at the feedlot riding pens. I believe he is more of a working horse not so much “performance.” So I do believe someone looking for a barrel prospect would not be the right home for him. He seemed to enjoy working cows, being roped off of, doctoring. He opens/closes gates well. Through the years, he has had some accidents and setbacks. As a weaning he did fracture his face. There is only cosmetic damage. A scar. More recently in the spring, he strained his suspensory tendon on his right hind. It was treated with shockwave and stem cells. He was cleared 100% sound a month ago. Final check up was all good on 8/20/24. Because of this injury, he has been sitting recently. Exercise/(work) throughout these last few weeks has been minimal. I’ve ridden him twice and have been doing groundwork with him for the past month. He is up to date on vaccines. Teeth and sheath were done in the spring. Fresh shoes all the way around I am happy to answer any questions or concerns you might have. It really does break my heart to sell him, but I realized he does not work with my program and we do not work well together. Located in Eaton, CO
