“Annie” stands at 14.3 hh and was foaled in 2013. (Unregistered and selling as grade). A real snuggle-bug with a kind heart, Annie has spent six years with our family and has happily fulfilled diverse occupations under our care. Annie has immaculate ground manners and is incredibly aware of where her handler is while on the ground. Her perceptive mindfulness is evident even on a casual lead around the farm: she stops when you stop, steps back softly when asked, and turns on a dime with minimal effort on her handler’s part. She can be a bit antsy in the wash rack but will settle and accept her sudsy-bubbles-scrub-down with the best of them. Annie stands quietly for the farrier and is currently wearing a front set of shoes. Although she has been barefoot in the past and has also worn a full set without complaint, we found her comfortable with a front set for long summer trail rides due to the terrain. Annie goes in English or Western tack and has prior experience with OHSET and 4H. She’s soft in the bridle, has a nice stop, and moves off your leg with ease. Despite her petite frame, she has a ground-covering walk that eats up miles on the trail. She rides out alone or with a group, hacks on a loose rein, and tackles varied terrain with ease. She has one of the smoothest trots out there, and due to her keen attitude outdoors, we can easily see her excelling in endurance or eventing. In the arena, Annie likes a bit of help from her rider to balance through her shoulders and get that booty engaged. She has three lovely gaits and is easily adjustable. She’ll downshift into a smooth-as-silk jog or step out into a snappy little trot ready for the dressage court, making her a fantastic all-around, hunter or pleasure partner. Annie also loves to jump! Please note: Annie is NOT suited to barrels or gaming events. She prefers a slower-paced life with a quiet, consistent schedule. While she has toted the occasional beginner rider, Annie would do best with an intermediate rider or advanced-beginner under a trainer’s watchful eye. She will test her boundaries and look to her person for confidence or reassurance, but once you have gained her trust, this little lady will hang the moon for you! She truly wants to find “her person” that will give her the consistency she desires. Located in Bend, Oregon. PPE’s welcome at the buyer’s expense.
