SOLD ~ Beautiful Black 15.1 hand Mustang. HMA Reno Nevada
Gelding 12yrs old. Has cute white snip color on nose. Thick full long black tail, medium length black wavy mane. He has a Friesian Look about him.
This guy has been on many miles of trails, riding & groundwork clinics, arena work, obstacle course work & shows. Cowboy dressage & cow work Clinics. Rides in halter, bosal or snaffle, also has been Ridden Bridleless. He loves being handled, groomed, ridden, groundwork and just about anything you want to do. I’ve taken him through a complete training course on positive reinforcement so he knows R+ training well and loves it. Loads well in the trailer. Travels well. He loves to be in a stall, although he has always had a stall with a run here as well as pasture turnout. He is responsive, neck reins, side passes up to a mounting block and stands well for mounting. He tends to be on the cold blooded side but he also is quick and light on his feet, carries himself on his hind end well. He is gentle and respectful on the ground and in the saddle. He does prefer to stay with the herd when on trail rides , so not a “go out alone on trail rides type horse”.But he is great on the trail and has a nice slow trot and lope. I haven’t ridden him much in the last three years. So he needs some consistency although he can just be saddled up and ridden absolutely, just may be a little more spicy than his usual, and need a 5 minute reminder lesson :) Up to date on vaccines, worming, teeth floated this year, trimming. Barefoot at present but may need front shoes if planning to ride rocky trails. (Have hoof boots I use instead of shoes, that can go with him for riding on rocky terrain) He has been tied on a high line out camping, crosses water. Does great at liberty work also. He is a wonderful horse. Was originally started & trained in a prison program by prisoners in Nevada. (See pictures) The reason I’m selling this sweet guy is I now have a shorter mustang I’ve started and no longer want to ride such a big horse (big for me I’m 4’11”) So this will be a very special horse for someone.
