Rooster is an 18 year old gelding. We bought him for my daughter when she was 7 to run barrels on and now she is 9 and wanting a step up. Rooster is consistently in the 4/5d open at bigger races with my kiddo. He runs 23/24 poles with her (I think he could be faster with someone more aggressive on the poles) before us he was heeled on and ranched and branded on. We have heeled on him only once since owning him. He only started barrel racing in 2018 so he hasn’t had his legs ran off. We only injected his hocks for the first time this spring. He has traveled everywhere with us and travels like a champ and eats and drinks on the road. He does get excited at the gate so the last 2 months have tried lasix to see if it helps. He does have a couple small quirks I’m happy to discuss with someone. He really is a great boy who is super consistent in the barrel pen and has won my kiddo a bunch! I have tons of pictures and videos available. |
