Phoenix is a gorgeous, buttermilk buckskin quarter horse , registered AQHA. He has an amazing handle, he's a "mind reader" or at least a great body language reader. I’ve been using him for the last three years exclusively as a trail horse and he's a blast to ride - he has so many buttons! Phoenix is the most athletic horse I have ever owned. He has automatic flying lead changes, he spins, has a nice stop, an easy to ride regular and working trot; he sidepasses, works a gate, and backs up straight all at the lightest leg pressure or touch of the reins. He is very “cowy” and his previous owner told me he is one of the best heelers he has ever seen (I am only his second owner since the breeder sold him, he spent 6 years working on a cattle ranch in Wyoming before coming to me in Texas). He has also competed as a header. His previous owner won on Phoenix in team roping events. He will do best with a confident, experienced rider. He easily loads and unloads from the trailer, he stands quietly for the farrier, for picking his feet, grooming, bathing, etc. He also dearly loves carrots. He is super smart, I’ve run him through the Clinton Anderson groundwork basics, and he learned each skill in two days or less – I bet he could learn a barrel pattern and do very well in that sport. I wish I could keep up with him, but it’s time to sell him to someone who can, he is just too nice and needs a proper job - but also looking for a good home as he is a very special guy. Up to date on teeth, Coggins, vaccinations.
