Angel is a 9-year old off the track thoroughbred. She has an excellent brain and truly has a heart of gold. She wants to be loyal to her person and wants to please. Her aids to move off of the leg are easy, and she certainly has get up and go. Her trot is very flowy, big, and smooth (she would probably make a super awesome dressage horse). She is fantastic out on trail with others, and she doesn't mind leading or following. I've only taken her out on her own a handful of times and not very far as I've been slowly putting the miles on in attempt to keep her experience positive. Angel is more "go" than "whoa", but she responds well to half halts. I currently ride her in a two-piece egg-butt snaffle with no issues. The last couple of months, her rides have been very inconsistent, yet she consistently gives me good rides whether we are picking up where we left off in the arena, or going out on the trail. I own a small riding program, and I have allowed a small handful of students (ages ranging from 11-30) to ride her. However, these students were more on the intermediate end. Angel is definitely not for a beginner or overly anxious rider. She needs confidence from her person. I would recommend an advanced or intermediate rider with a trainer. She had sat in a pasture for years until I took her home Winter of 2024. Since then, I have gotten her feet and weight back to normal, and have done ground work including lunge line, poles, lateral movement, and desensitizing (however, she can certainly use more of this!!). At the old barn, she did have anxiety in the barn/ stalls. At my place, she lives in a large dry-lot shared with my other horses, and I only have an outdoor arena. She does great in this type of setting. If she were to go to a boarding facility, it might take her a minute to adjust to the "indoor" lifestyle. She is barefoot and stands well for the farrier. She is definitely alpha mare and has no problem letting the other mares know. She has no known stable vices as I do not keep her in a stable. She loves kids and is gentle (I let my 2-year old feed her treats, no hesitation). She loves to be brushed, cuddled, stretched, massaged, etc. Basically, anything that involves being loved, she's a big fan of. This sale hurts, and my only reason for selling is due to an unexpected divorce. I do not have the time or resources to continue to give this girl the consistent training she needs, and I firmly believe that she will make someone very lucky and happy.
