Freddy the Wonder Pony

Up for consideration is “Freddy the Wonder Pony,” a 14-year-old grey 13.0h Welsh Mountain Pony gelding who is the absolute cutest! Before he came to our barn, he was a carriage pulling pony with a docked tail that graduated to a champion level Hunter/Jumper pony. He won Hunter/Jumper shows at 2’6”, has been to Hunter/Jumper clinics, and was undoubtedly the lesson pony of choice at a large Hunter/Jumper barn in Metro, Detroit, from which he was purchased. He has been our packer jumping pony, and now it is time for him to be that for another rider, barn, or family!
He does all the things—he is great with kids, has a smooth trot that has no end (think pulling pony), takes both leads. He is a brave jumper over fences, ditches, and logs, is safe on the trail and loves water. He walk/trot/canters on medium contact. He is currently ridden by a champion-level youth rider in Dressage and Eventing. He is a great lower-level Eventer and Hunter/Jumper pony. He could also be reinstated as the lesson pony for any program with kids learning to jump.
He stands well for the vet and farrier, is barefoot, and loads well. UTD on Coggins, vaccinations, Farrier, and deworming. No health issues other than occasional seasonal allergies which resolves quickly with medicine. He is an easy keeper and fat on hay.
Freddy is a great jumper in all aspects and knows the Hunter/Jumper world well! He would excel in a lesson program, or with a family that wants to learn how to jump. Wherever Freddy goes, he will make someone very happy!
