***UPDATE *** I am looking into putting her into saddle training next month. Price will go up significantly after that. Bambi is an 8yo, 12h , red roan Shetland mare in search of a human to love, a job to do, and a dry lot to live in. This mare is very flashy, forward, and fancy. She would make an outstanding Combined Driving pony, hunter jumper, or show pony. She has had my granddaughter on her briefly leading around the yard several years ago, but not since. She is not broke to ride or drive but land fast and is a Great prospect any directionyou want to take her. Bambi is smart and a very fast learner. She WANTS to learn and wants to be with her human, she's a very in your pocket pony. I have not done much with her since I got her as a 2yo, but since I started working with her in the round pen a month ago she has been saddled, gone over and under tarps, jumped, and more in the round pen. She is used to cars, quads, mowers, running horses, dogs, neighborhood gun shots, and fireworks. Loads, clips, stands for farrier. No m mean bones in her, though can be spicy now and then. I was originally not going to sell her as a kids pony, but after working with her over the past month I think that with training she could make an outstanding pony for an experienced child. Now for disclosures- I got Bambi as a 2yo as a companion for our geriatric mare. Since I've had her she had always been able to be on pasture, until 2 years ago when she had a laminitis flare. We got her over that and she was able to winter on pasture, and last summer was fine with a muzzle. We fertilized the pasture this spring and Unfortunately Bambi got her muzzle off earlier in the day and had another laminitis flare in May. She is back to sound and since the mare she is a companion for needs to be on grass and Bambi can't, it's time for Bambi to find a new human with a dry lot that will ove on her and give her purpose. As a 2yo Bambi did colic 3x. I had the vet out the first time and it was mild. He tubed her and she passed a loaf and was fine. The other two times I gave her bute and Epsom salt in mash and within a few hours she passed again. She has had no colic issues in the past 6 years since. And lastly... she does crib, even with a collar. If that doesn't bother you, you will absolutely love this sweet little mare. Come take a look, you won't regret it!
