For Your Consideration: Flying W Baroness Von Skylar Blue is (Skylar) - 2009 Pinto Friesian/Saddlebred Mare Meet Skylar: A 2009 bay Pinto mare, standing a solid 16.1+hh. Skylar is not just a horse; she was a mother and was our first family horse. Skylar boasts dual registration, recognized by both the International Georgian Grande Horse Registry, INC. and the Friesian Heritage Horse and Sporthorse International. (Pinto Friesian/Saddlebred) As our well loved family horse, Skylar has been a source of joy and learning for myself and my three daughters, ages 12, 12, and 9. She has taught us a lot! While Skylar excels in English saddle and hunt seat, she's also a versatile mount, smoothly transitioning to western riding. Despite her occasional nervousness in new situations, Skylar's overall demeanor remains calm, quickly easing with familiarity. She’s an extremely flashy mare in the ring or on the trails. Skylar's strengths make her suitable for a variety of riders, but it's important to note that, being a large and powerful horse, she can require a confident handler to maintain consistent leadership, especially in new environments. Skylar went to fair for the first time this year. She did struggle for my beginner/intermediate daughter, but excelled for older intermediate/advanced 4h riders. I also rode her in the open shows and while she was looks she did as I asked. She also did good at the end for my beginner/child. Skylar is great at the barn for any level. Once she settles in we've had 5 year olds ride her! Skylar is social and integrates well into herds, maintaining a middle-to-low ranking. She loads easily, but does better with a buddy. She carries a large scar on her back leg from an old injury, it's purely aesthetic and doesn't affect her movement. PPE’s are welcomed at the buyer's expense. She is UTD on all vaccines, has routine farrier care (every 5 weeks), dental and regular chiro visits at the boarding facility. She has also produced one healthy, correct and exceptional foal. She was an excellent mother. Skylar has been a wonderful addition to our lives, and we're now offering her to a new home after much consideration. We believe she has so much to give and hope she finds a family that appreciates her as much as we have. We have decided to move on to a stock breed to do more ranch type events and Skylar would simply be wasted not being used as a she was trained.
