Henry is a registered 10 year old appendix standing at 16.3 solid big boy and he’s a sweet pea. Nickers every morning when the back slider opens. Nothing seems to phase him…he even got stuck in the chicken coop the other day and just hung out until we saved him…traffic, water, trailers, ties, eats teff, is on equiox for arthritis in his left hock. He has zero interest in being an arena horse and just wants to explore trails. He is dominant with my mare but isn’t a total jerk. He can be pushy on the ground but easily corrected and he truly enjoys ground work. I’ve ponied off of him with zero issues. Wears front shoes for trail. He does prefer to go out with a buddy, but hasn’t done anything super dumb alone. Just hollers and stops. With a confident rider and more practice, he’d be fine. Loads and unloads fine. I have a three horse slant and he does like to turn around to get out but with practice could back out.
