It's past time for The Yellow Devil to find her perfect home. She was never meant to be a permanent fixture, but she just never left. Due to sudden unfortunate circumstances with another horse, Elina needs to find her home sooner than later, as I need the space for the other horse to rehab. This does not mean she'll go just anywhere, nor are we desperate. Elina just completed 30 days training. Prior to being officially started, she had been sat on and ridden around the property, hauled all over and exposed to all kinds of things. She is wonderfully well-rounded and has the best brain you could ask for. As she was an emaciated weanling at auction, we have no idea how she's bred, but she appears to be (and behaves like!) a working cow horse type QH. She is one of the most personable, bonded dog-horses I've ever met, coming running when you call her by name and letting you sit or lay on her when she naps. The first time she had a saddle pad set on her, she was so nonchalant that we added a saddle, then a cinch, then a human all in a span of 15 minutes. She could not have cared less- she trusts her humans 100% and would probably enjoy living in the house. She loads and hauls perfectly in any kind of trailer, is used to being hauled alone, picks up feet, doesn't have any vices of any sort and is healthy as the proverbial horse. She is pastured with both mares and geldings, and one miniature stallion and gets along fine wherever. She is definitely a mare, but not aggressive to other horses- just makes ugly faces when they don't do as she says. She usually ends up bottom of the pecking order despite her mean faces. I cannot overstate her brilliant mind and problem-solving abilities; trail competition, maybe? Obstacles? Ranch riding? Cows? I truly believe her to be one of the most unique green 4yr olds on the market due to her extensive and varied handling. So many horses her age have been left untouched and then rushed through 30-60-90 days of fear-based training just to get them sold, and those holes in the foundation are going to show up eventually, and usually when you least appreciate them. I feel she has the potential to be someone's partner of a lifetime. The only thing she's lacking are papers.
