I am looking to rehome my 18yo mare as a companion horse. She is suitable for light riding, for a light rider only. I am not in a rush to let her go, I just want to find the perfect place for her where she will spend her remaining years. The reason is that I live in the city, she is in a beautiful barn but turn out is limited and has no grass. I want her to enjoy a pasture life. Also, I am looking to move out of state, probably in a bigger city and it is not a life for her. She is a very sweet mare (she loves kids), but can be bossy with other horses. She stands in ties, bathes, and has wonderful ground manners. She does have sweet itch during summer, the vet gives her Vetalog shots every 6 weeks during that time. She has an old ligament injury, I walk her once in a while. As I said, she can be ridden by a child or a small adult. I will ask for references from vet and farrier, and I may request to visit your property should you live close enough to me. I don't want her to end up in a bad situation. Please inquire if you really are serious.
