FINISH YOUR WAY Meet "Howie," registered name "I'm Funny How." He's a 15h, 11 year old, bay, off the track Thoroughbred gelding (raced but was too slow) and probably the sweetest and goofiest horse you'll ever meet; there's no such thing as a bad ending to your day with this guy around! No matter where he goes, he's always a barn favorite! He's very fond of people and gets along well with other horses as well, though very playful. He's the in-your-pocket type and will follow you around like an oversize puppy! He's currently barefoot and has been doing extremely well, but has had shoes in the past; we currently use hoof boots. He's been ridden in an english and western saddle, walk/trot/canter, stands quietly to be mounted. Has jumped up to 2'3" in the past, but not recently. Has flying lead changes, but will need work to perfect them. He's not a kick ride, he's a forward horse, but has a very solid stop. Suitable for an intermediate rider with a trainer or an advanced rider; I only say this because he is a forward horse with a lot of excitement and GO! I'm a timid rider, but I feel very safe on him. For the last year we've been focusing on ground work since rehabbing an injury and due to owner's new interest in the area. He's been only recently started back under saddle this past summer. Extremely smart and willing to learn, he takes to new information quickly. Definitely one of the easiest and smoothest rides I've ever had, he's a lot of fun! He's been ridden on the trails alone and in a group in the past, he just gets excited. He's hopped over logs no problem and, with coaxing, will go through water. Has been off-property only a handful of times and will need some work and exposure as owner does not own a trailer, but has always loaded very easily when needed. He knows how to ground tie. Stands for grooming, body clipping, vet visits, and the farrier even trims him in his paddock with no issues at all. His only vices are that he's not the biggest fan of blankets or fly sheets nor does he enjoy having his mane fussed with. He has some old injuries that I'm perfectly happy with talking to you about, they no longer bother him and require no maintenance. He's up to date on vaccines, had a fecal done, and recently had his teeth floated. Serious inquires only please, more information will be provided to interested parties. Rehoming due to no fault of his own, owner has had to make a tough decision due to financial changes.
