Minnie has been one of our personal horses for quite a while now but it’s time for her to move along. She is a 17-18 year old, grade, black overo mare who stands 16 hh.

As I said, Minnie has been around for some time now and has primarily been used to instruct and give riding lessons. I have also used her as my personal trail mount over the past years. She is gentle and quiet enough for anyone to ride.

Minnie stands quietly to be brushed, fly sprayed and tacked up. We are currently riding her in an O Ring snaffle bit and she plow reins for the beginners and lessons. However, if you play around with the bit and find one she likes she will neck rein very willingly. Also, she doesn’t mind the beginners kicking at her sides and willingly does what she is asked. Minnie is very quiet and gentle and will walk, trot, canter and gallop but she prefers to walk/trot. She has a nice whoa and will back up on your request. NO rear, kick, strike or bolt.

Minnie will work willingly in or out of the arena. She is fearless on trails and LOVES to trail ride or just ride wherever you ask her to go. She has been ridden on trails on our farm both with a group and alone and she is brave enough to lead but she also doesn’t mind following right along. She has been exposed to bulldozers, tractors, semis, motorcycles, side by sides, ATVs, goats and kids running all thru their pasture and nothing seems to bother her.

Minnie is very friendly and will come when you call her name. She is, by no means, the boss of the field and gets along great with mares, geldings and ponies. Again, she stands quietly to be groomed, tacked, bathed and she LOVES to be fly sprayed. She has never done anything wrong for us and has NEVER tried to bite, kick or strike at anyone. She doesn’t mind being out in the field or will stand quietly in a stall with good stall manners. Again, no bad stall habits; no stall weave, pawing or cribbing!

Minnie is UTD on her yearly vaccinations and was ladt dewormed on 04/27/24. She has nice, solid feet and stands great for the farrier and was trimmed on 06/26/24.
