Looking for a special home for a special horse. He’s special because he was born with two fused vertebra in his neck which limits his lateral flexion. However, there is still a lot this horse can do. “Lasso” is a 7 year old gelding, bred and raised at LA Waters Quarter horses in Texas. His sire is Wild Card Dun It, an AQHA all around champion and son of Hollywood Dun It. His dam was an PRCA Head horse. He is Ranching Heritage Eligible. Lasso went thought the colt starting program and the performance horse sale at Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo, where I bought him his two year old year. Lasso is a big stout, handsome horse and would make an awesome ranch versatility horse, daily using horse on a ranch and has a ton of potential to go many other directions with some work. He’s been shown at a few schooling shows in both ranch riding and ranch trail and has competed in several competitive ranch trail trials. He’s was shown last year at the Californio Early Skills of the Rancho where he won his intermediate hackamore class which was 3 events (ranch riding, sorting and rodear roping). He’s gathered and sorted cow and calf pairs and has been heeled on in the branding pen several times. He’s got a ton of cow. This horse is easy to get along with, but is an athlete and is strong and has a big motor. He can be a lot of horse at times, so he needs a good rider or someone who works with a trainer. But he is very kind and gentle. He’s a hard one to let go of, but I just don’t have the time for him. Sadly, he’s been sitting all summer so he’s a little chubby and out of shape. I’ve been mostly riding him in the hackamore but recently transitioned him into the two rein. Come see him and try him out. I will be negotiable on price to the right home.
