Swagger is a VERY loved boy that DOESN’T HAVE TO GO anywhere and this is a very hard decision for me to let him go. I have owned him for several years and he has always done everything I’ve asked of him. The only reason I’m selling him is because I have a bad knee replacement and a bad shoulder and I just don’t care to ride anymore. Swagger is a 20 year old, Belgian gelding with a blonde mane and tail. He stands 16. 2 hh and weighs well over a ton. Swagger is very friendly and will come when you call his name. He stands quietly to be groomed, tacked and fly sprayed. He takes a bit like nobody’s business and picks his feet up when asked. He will also jump right on and off a trailer. He has never done anything wrong for us and has NEVER tried to bite, kick or strike at anyone; HE’S A BIG OLE LOVER BOY!! Swagger will stand for you to climb up on or use mounting blocks to get on and find your seat. He plow reins and has a hard mouth from being a driving horse for so many years so we use a Liverpool driving bit with him. Swagger willingly walks and will trot but it takes some coaxing (and a riding crop) to get him to canter. Swag is a little stubborn and sometimes it takes a little arm muscle to make him go where you want but once you get him moving he will go in whatever direction you point him in. He has a nice whoa and will back up on your request. He moves off nicely and is a kick to go kinda guy. NO rear, kick, strike or bolt & he doesn’t seem to spook at anything. Swagger will work in the arena but prefers to be outside of it. He is Mr. Fearless on trails and LOVES to trail ride or just ride wherever you ask him to go. He has been ridden on trails on our farm both with a group and alone and he is brave enough to lead but he also doesn’t mind following right along. He has been exposed to bulldozers, tractors, semis, motorcycles, side by sides, ATVs, goats and kids running all thru their pasture and nothing seems to bother him. He does require a little maintenance but, if kept up with, he is sound to trail ride him as much as you like. We were told Swagger was team driven most of his life and he does have an old rub mark on his withers that kinda tells the story. Also, he doesn’t turn to the left real well so that kinda tells us he was the right hand horse but we don’t have any driving equipment to test any of this out. In the field, Swagger will come when you call his name or you shake a grain bucket. He can be a little bull-headed when you are leading him and if you give him too much lead rope he might pull away from you. He does fine in a mixed herd and gets along well with both mares and geldings. He doesn’t mind being out in the field or will stand quietly in a stall with good stall manners. Again, no bad stall habits; no stall weave, pawing or cribbing! Swagger is UTD on his yearly vaccinations and was just dewormed on 09/18/24. He also stands great for the farrier and DOES NOT require stocks to be trimmed. Swagger has a current negat
