Mary is a beautiful Hackney/Clyde cross from Canada who arrived here early this summer after spending her whole working life as a driving horse. She was started under saddle in July and is coming along nicely! She’s going solidly walk/trot and is now learning to canter, and while she has yet to do any actual trail riding, she hacks down the road and around the neighborhood quietly. What Mary lacks in ridden experience, she makes up for in life experience- she’s kind and well mannered on the ground and is a pleasure to work around, and she has excellent manners for the farrier and vet. While she is green, her age and temperament make her more straightforward than a typical green baby, and her driving background makes her very responsive to voice cues. Mary is uncomplicated in the barn; she can live out or come into a stall, alone or in a herd, and she looks like she’ll grow a good coat. She is currently shod up front. She’s an excellent prospect for someone wanting a flashy looking draft cross that has a great brain and isn’t too heavy. Mary’s price may increase as her training progresses.
