Quincy is a 7 year old gelding who is just shy of 16 hands from Stinking Water HMA in Oregon. He was adopted as a yearling from the Burns Corrals and started as a 3 year old. He was purchased by us at 3 years old to be developed into a husband horse as he is big, build well and has more whoa then go. Unfortunately due me first starting a business, then having my son I never put the consistent time on him and he has essentially sat for 4 years. Last summer I pulled him out of pasture, gave him an hour refresh in the round pen and then took him on a 25 mile camping trip in the Eagle Cap Mountains. He did great. This spring I took him on one ride and he was obviously uncomfortable turning his head to bite at the cinch and balking when asked to move forward. I took him to the vet who diagnosed him with hind gut ulcers, no soundness concerns. For video for this ad I grabbed him out of pasture and rode him bareback without a warm up or lounging. Our quick ride is the second time I have been on a horse in the last year. We are selling Quincy as we simply do not ride and he is too nice to be a pasture pet. He has never bucked or bolted with me. He is not spooky. He loads easy and is decent with his feet. He has never been shod but should have front boots on rough terrain (his will go with him). He does pin his ears during feeding time (I just tell him to knock it off). Ideally he needs to go to a experienced rider who has time to put some consistent time in on him.
