For sale: 6 year old, sorrel rabicano (roan) gelding, grade (no papers). 14.1 hand, 850 lbs. super cute gelding with a huge personality. He is looking for the right person to love him. Hutch is showing great promise as a jr/high school rodeo horse or 4H prospect. I have spent the summer patterning him on the barrels and poles. He is currently loping both patterns, but I would still consider him green patterned. I can do goat get-offs and I regularly rope the calf tracker on him, at which he excels. I just recently started pen-roping live cattle on him and he went right to chasing the lead steer, locking on and pinning his ears. Because he is green, I've only dallied to the horn a few times. He stopped well and held the steer. He definitely has the right moves ( and the right mind) to make a breakaway horse. He just needs the practice time. I have ridden him extensively outside in the fields. Hutch has been hauled to the mountains and is exceptional on the trail. He was exposed to water-crossings this spring while moving cows for a local rancher. We've even tried our hand at a team sorting practice. Hutch has been ponied off of and is not bothered by the rope under his tail. This horse has spent hours tied up and saddled at the hitching rail. He hobbles, lunges, leads, ties and shoes. He can be ridding in a bosal, snaffle or ported bit. He is very versatile, smart and he's willing to try new things. I think he would work as a 4H horse. I have taken him to Riverside State Park and successfully navigated the trail course. He will cross logs, walk over teeter-totter bridges, climb up on the tire and walk through the tarp. This is a great little young horse with a solid start that picks thinks up very quickly. If you're looking for a practice horse with a good foundation or you're the person looking for a nice moving trail horse, then this is the horse for you. And for those that like to ride English, this is a great prospect for a pony clubber. Asking $9,500 cash I have vides of him loping both barrel and pole patterns and roping the lead steer. I also have many more pictures available upon request. Contact Michelle at 509-280-5165, call or text.
