Respectable ground manners, easy to lunge, stands to be mounted, ties and hauls well. Currently barefoot and stands great for farrier. Athena gets along with mares & geldings in a pasture setting. Wants to be around people and enjoys attention, probably one of the sweetest mares I’ve ever met. No health issues or soundness issues. Teeth and shots done in August 2024.
Athena was started lightly by an amateur when she turned 4. After completing six months of professional training in our program, she is now ready to find her new home. Athena has very smooth, consistent gaits and will pick up the pace when requested but is also happy to just plot along on the trail. She remains consistently calm in her performance and attitude, whether at home or off-property, making her predictable in various settings. She is wonderful on the trail and will lead or follow WTC.
She is very soft in the contact and off the aids. Currently ridden in a three-piece lozenge eggbutt bit as well as bit-less (in a halter). Athena shows no signs of bucking, rearing, bolting, or biting. Athena has been used for multiple lessons with beginner/intermediate youth WTC and done very well. She is being started over fences.
Best fit would be an AA, youth rider wanting to bring along a young horse or a simple trail home/someone wanting a fun horse to play around on.
