Medical issues/bills and surgery have forced me to put my sweet young mare up for sale. Roanie is a character! Her nosiness and desire to smell everything makes us laugh every day. As soon as she hears one of us greet her or sees us standing in the barn at her stall door, she leaves her hay and makes a beeline to her stall to say hello. She loves to follow us around. Roanie is 4 1/2 years old and green broke, and almost too smart for her own good (or--maybe mine!). She free-lunges and line-lunges, is learning to drive (although she doesn't have her license yet!), and is beginning to gait. I am teaching her to side-pass up to the mounting block, and today introduced neck reining, which she began to pick up on almost immediately. She does fine with baths; although she's not a fan of the cold water rinse, she still behaves. Clips fine, is good for the farrier, and loads and trailers like a dream. I'm crazy about this girl and so is my husband, even though he's never been on a horse in his life (and a green horse, sweet as she is, would not be a good place to start). So having to sell her is awful for both of us. Our loss could truly be your gain, not only as a lovely young mare that can be ridden and used to pull a cart, wagon, or sleigh, but as a broodmare as well, given her awesome pedigree. A few of the famous World Grand Champions in her background include The Pusher, Ebony Masterpiece, Pride's Generator, and The Black Night Shade, as well as her own sire, World Grand Champion Jimmy Choo. Roanie needs an intermediate to experienced rider who can continue to teach her or get help from a trainer. This special girl has amazing potential and will go to an approved home only!
