Reno is an absolutely incredible trail horse and is about as thick and pretty as they come. He is a draft crossed with a quarter horse and has that calm slow draft mind with the willingness we love from our quarter horses. He is brave on trail and walks over any obstacle you out in front of him and is willing to go anywhere or do anything out on trail. We have also spent a ton of time in the arena and Reno has incredibly comfortable smooth gaits and can walk, trot and his lope is our favorite! He can easily pick up his leads and rates his speed beautifully though trail riding is where he really shines. Reno can sidepass, open gates, carry a tarp, carry a flag, carry a ball and is comfortable around the cows, bison, dogs, cars, trucks, tractors, quads, dirtbikes, UTV’s, weed whackers, blowers, ducks and anything else we have thrown his way. He is truly a wonderful kind and gentle horse looking for someone to call his own and have a purpose in life. Unfortunately Reno had a very tough start in life and was mistreated before we got him so he was a bit of a mess in the beginning and had a hard time trusting people. At Lazy Oaks we put the horses first and Reno needed us and we don’t give up easy so we decided to start him over from scratch and we have put over 15 months of professional training into him and covered all the bases from the ground up. What amazes us most is that even though we had to put him through a lot to get to where we are today, Reno has never offered to rear, buck or bolt which is a true testament to his calm and safe nature. It can still take him a minute to warm up to new people but when he accepts you as his person he bonds incredibly strongly and is a big gentle cuddle bug. Reno needs someone who is patient and kind and who has the time to love on him and pick up where we left off to form a strong bond and give him someone to rely on. Reno has been pre-vet checked and is up to date on vaccines, teeth, worming, and farrier. No maintenance. More gentle horses are available on our website www.lazyoakshorses.com
