Looking for your next trail ride, western, or ranch mare? Penny Lane aka “Greta” is a 2009 AQHA registered mare with lots of Doc Bar blood. Papers and transfers in hand. I bought Greta a few months ago to put some rides and time on her with plans to soon send her to her next home. She had previously been a pasture-dwelling broodmare, but she showed great potential to be an amazing partner for someone. Over the last few months, I mainly focused on desensitization and connection with people. She now: -Drags tarps -Is traffic safe -Stands beautifully for the farrier -Is dog safe -Hops right onto the trailer -Crossties patiently & politely -Has great ground manners leading, tacking, grooming, bathing, etc -Walk / trots without a complaint -Trail rides by herself -Gets along with mares and geldings -Doesn’t want to kill you or your family I’ll be straight up with you and tell you all of her quirks that I’ve experienced in my time working on her. She doesn't want to be caught. Has she improved? Yes. Is she perfect yet? Nope. She is continuing to gradually get better at this over time. She can be a little lazy when you want to lope / gallop. She’s spent her life having babies and her mama self wants to be a walk / trot lady and tbh I understand because- me too, girl, and I haven’t had children. Is still sometimes a little head shy and sensitive to harsh movements and/or harsh leg pressure. She has also GREATLY improved in this area, but it’s a time thing. If you’re kind and gentle to her, she’ll loosen up even more just how she has for me. Can be shipped anywhere USA!
