General info: Jane is a 13.3hh 11 year old quarter pony mare. This would be a great first horse- she is steady (in temperament and in tempo), safe, and not "marish". She is the same steady/pleasant horse every single ride- on the trail, in the indoor, with other horses, or alone. Pony belongs to an 11 year old girl who has sadly outgrown her. This pony is sweet as they come- it will be quite difficult for the family to part with her but her rider is just getting too tall so she needs a bigger horse. Jane is very trustworthy- the kid who rides her can ride her in a halter and lead rope by herself on a trail. Show background: Jane shines in both the hunter ring and low level dressage (she won her 1st level division at a dressage schooling show in October. Has scored over 70% in dressage competition and has won some nice ribbons in the hunter ring (including a recent win in a rail class of over 15 horses). Jumps easily to 2’3 (has jumped higher in schooling without issue), some xcountry jumping experience without drama, trail rides quietly, hacks out alone or in group, etc. She has a USEF and USHJA number. Dressage: She has been in partial training for over a year with an FEI dressage trainer (and is fun for the trainer to ride too!) and is at 1st level- schooling 2nd level movements. Jane has a leg yield, shoulder-in, and haunches-in. Trainer is 5’5 and able to ride her easily in case you are worried about size! Management: Jane lives in a herd 24/7 and can be turned out with mares or geldings. She eats a small amount of ration balancer and free choice hay. We have had her 2 years and in that time she has not been lame. Hocks were injected once but that was over a year ago and she doesn’t appear to need it again so far. No need for shoes. No colics, laminitis, etc. Does not need a grazing muzzle. Easy for even non-horse people to handle. She has had regular saddle fitting to ensure her comfort.
