Riptide is a 2016 grade Brindle Buckskin Quarter Horse gelding, who stands at 14.2 hands. This handsome guy has the sweetest personality and enjoys hugs. Currently only riding in western and an offset dee ring snaffle and has gone nicely in a Bosal, so he can go bitless if his new partner prefers that. Under the right person, this guy has the potential to excell as a Ranch Horse in the show ring. He has been enjoying learning Liberty work and he has learned to connect/trust better through it. He has also expressed interest in learning barrels and pole bending, but he is pretty chill so he would only enjoy just doing those for fun rather than being super competitive. He is still being exposed to various things that can be in and out of the arena, but he is so curious and willing to try, so he will go far. He has a lovely jog, learning to trot out more and has a wonderful lope. Still in the beginning stages of learning his spins, working on a soft balanced halt. Currently working on simple lead changes, becoming stronger and rounder in his transitions and with small introductions to the start of collection. Super soft mouth and soft sides, so he is responsive to the rider, follows pressure nicely from seat, legs and reins. Asking for a experienced, advanced, soft, kind rider who is compassionate and can help him through his startles. He is not for kids and not for someone with limited experience of horses who spook and get jumpy. His recovery time from spooks is quite fast and he finds relaxation quickly to always end his rides on good notes. Stands good for the farrier, picks up hooves nicely, and is currently shod in the front. Just had a full clean bill of health from the veterinarian, owner can provide records, but feel free to schedule a pre-purchase exam with your own veterinarian.
