Samara, or “Sadie” is a friendly, flashy filly who regularly impresses us with her capacity to shift weight to her hindquarters quickly going from a full gallop to a collected canter to a pirouette. Sadie recently earned a 8.0 overall score at her Westfalen inspection, earning her the title of Premium Foal. Her canter is her highlight, according to the inspector at the Westfalen inspection, though he also praised the swing of her trot and clear walk rhythm. Both of Sadie's parents are large ponies, at 14.1hh. We expect Sadie to mature to a large pony / oversized (14.2-15.2). Sadie’s sire, Stibby Me, has successfully competed at PSG and I1, and now is still competing sound at 22 years old, taking a junior rider to 3rd level. Sadie’s dam, Premie Dawna, has competed successfully in both dressage (schooling 3rd level) and eventing before she was retired due to a pasture accident. Sadie’s damsire brings strong jumping blood, which shows in her powerful, uphill canter. Sadie is a flashy filly with bling and some roaning! She is friendly, incredibly smart and is picking up on basic foal training quickly. She can be led by a non-horsey husband with just a lead rope looped around her neck. Sadie is also bold, often adventuring far away from her mother and going to play with the yearlings and other adult horses, and happily investigating new things without fear. We are so pleased with Sadie that we re-arranged our plans this year to repeat this breeding. For those curious, "Samara" is the botanical term for the helicopter type seeds that twirl through the air, and she certainly lives up to her name.
