9 year old, 12.2H, Red Bay Hackney Pony Gelding (not gaited). This sweet gentleman has been my daughter's riding pony for the past 2 years, and is VERY sadly outgrown, as my daughter is now 5'5 and rapidly growing! We are looking for an excellent home for him where he will be very loved and well cared for and his training continued. Totally Sound, no maintenance, barefoot, very easy keeper, and can graze on pasture (no founder).
He has great talent for jumping and is well started over crossrails and working on flying changes. He has also been roped off of and herded cattle, raced other ponies for fun across our pasture with my daughter, galloped down trails, and has just been a very fun all-around pony. He is very well mannered overall, sweet, shy, excellent with all horses and other animals. He went to his first big schooling show and behaved wonderfully!
He is a forward moving pony, so needs a kiddo that isn't afraid of a little more go than whoa, so a confident beginner or better is recommended. He's not spooky but is on the sensitive side overall and appreciates a gentle, fair hand.
He is still green but is very predictable and reliable.
This little guy is going to make a stellar youth hunter/jumper show pony!! We really want to see him remain in training to fulfill his potential...but he would also make an excellent family pony as is, to a knowledgeable equestrian home to just have tons of fun trail riding in the mountains and doing any discipline in the arena.
