Listing for a student- Contact me for her contact info! Meet Bacardi! I have owned Bacardi for 3 years. He has great ground manners and is a pretty easy guy to have around. He stands for farrier, chiropractor and vet. If he gets a little nervous he is never naughty about of it. I do keep him in front shoes. He stands cross tied or point tied, baths well and is a pretty patient guy overall. For feed he gets 2 qts Tribute senior & 1 qrt Essential K 2x daily. He is up to date on all cares including farrier, dental, shots and coggins. He is a very lovey guy and likes to be in your back pocket. In a herd he does best with geldings and is higher on the totem pole. He likes to play and would do best with at least one buddy to entertain him. He doesn't have any vices and has been on full turnout or stalled. He does fine with either. Since being with me he has been taken on tons of trail rides both on and off property. He has experience over bridges, crossing water (both lakes and rivers), gravel roads, trail obstacles and is an over all trail lover. He is a been there done that kind of guy. He has experience jumping, dressage, a bit of cross country and even likes donkey sorting! He can have more go then woah. I have thrown beginner to advanced riders on him and he does just fine with all of it. Though he is pretty brave, he does still look to his rider for some confidence so an intermediate to advanced rider is best. There is nothing he won't try if you give him a second to think about it. He is one that can sit for weeks on end and when you hop back on him he is the same guy. He does have mild arthritis in his right hock and stifle. I have never had to inject either joint to keep him sound. It was found when I did a PPE when purchasing him. Now to my reason for selling. I sent Bacardi on trial with one of my trainers students and a large work load has turned out to be a bit too much for him. He has become sore over his rump and in his back. They decided not to purchase because her goals were jumping and riding 5-6 days/week probably isn't best for him. The vet recommended having his SI joint injected and believes that this would help a lot. However I am a college student and cannot afford it. I would like to find him a home that primarily trail rides. If someone wanted to do the SI injections he may be able to go back to jumping. Please reach out for more info, videos and pictures!
