“Ziggy” the cutest 14.2H grullo QH gelding. This 5/6yo gelding has the right size, color, and disposition to make anyone a wonderful partner.
If you want a show horse with fancy buttons – keep scrolling. If you want a ranch/family/husband/kid/ pleasure/trail type gelding that is safe, reliable, and simple – this is your guy! Go hit the trails, take him camping, haul to an obstacle clinic, give some lessons, check the back fences, move the herd of cows from one lot to the next, and drag the calves to the branding pit. This ranch gelding has done a bit of everything and is a safe and sure choice for the grandkids to ride too.
Ziggy is an uncomplicated ride– he has a rocking chair like lope that is super smooth and fun to ride! He sports a lazier/push style ride and will happily go the speed you select. He will happily go around on a draped rein 1 handed, or, collected 2 handed in the bridle! I have had all types of beginners on him and he has proven what a packer he is. We have hauled this guy to some of the local State Parks nearby and he didn’t bat an eye at any of the wildlife, bikers, etc.
Ziggy will take you right through water crossings, over bridges, and down embankments with confidence and ease. He is sure footed down the roughest of trail crossings and will ride in the rear, middle, or front! Rest assured, he is the same horse every ride – no need to lunge him prior to riding. Saddle up, and go! Ziggy neck reins, collects into the bridle, knows his leads, backs, and will work a gate! You can carry the flag, drag a log, shoot a gun, or cover him in a thick tarp – he does not mind one bit. Take him and ride him downtown, and he will bravely weave in and out of traffic, no problem! Swing a leg over him and ride him up to the barn bareback in a halter too. He puts up with all the shenanigans we throw his way, he really is a great minded guy, ready for his next adventure.
Ziggy is simple to live with! He loads easy, is respectful for farrier/vet, picks up all his feet, clips, ties, is easy to catch, and he gets along with others in the pasture. Respectful in a stall (no weave, crib, pace etc). Only vice I can pin on him is that he has been known to paw at the ground out of boredom when left tied sometimes (its hit or miss on if or when he does it). Ziggy sells grade (no papers). We have a full set of radiographs and a soundness report on file for your convenience. He has fantastic feet, no soundness/health problems, he is an easy keeper, and is very clean legged. UTD on deworming, vaccinations, coggins, dental, and farrier.
