Cheyenne is a 10 year old golden palomino gelding. Appaloosa/quarter horse, by foundation bred quarter horse stud and champion bred Appaloosa mare. He stands at about 15.2 weighs about 1200 lbs. Just in time for hunting season and in perfect working shape! If you want a horse that can work all day without the high-strung personality this is your guy! I train them to be calm and easy going but he has the capability to be a performance horse and go any direction. I’ve cracked bull whips and shot guns off him but I use premium horse ear plugs so rest assured you’re not getting a deaf horse. He stands while getting on, good to shoe, been picketed from both hind feet, and hobbled. He’s been packed in the backcountry for summer trips and hunting seasons since he was 3. Although I’ve dragged tires and logs with him I haven’t dragged an elk.I’ve herded horses with him up to 4 times a day during breeding season, herded cattle, crosses rivers, bridges, and deadfall without jumping or rushing through. He doesn’t get skiddish about things, he thinks his way through and really tries to understand what you’re asking of him, and how to complete the task, he aims to please. I would prefer to sell to a local so I’m offering 3 completely free outcalls between fishtail and Absarokee to teach you my training style, get you acquainted, need him rode out after winter, or if your just trying to teach him something new and this is for the lifetime of the horse by the original owner, just give me a few day notice.
