Introducing “Acts Like Gold,” a 14 year old thoroughbred gelding standing 16.2 hh who is often mistaken for a warmblood. Romeo has been a wonderful teacher for my student—bringing her from crossrails to 2’6”—but now it’s time for him to teach another.
Romeo is brave to the jumps and not spooky—he never needs to see the ring. He has a great canter to carry you around the course and has almost automatic lead changes. Romeo would be an amazing lower level eventer or show jumper with his scopey jump and game attitude. For the last year he’s been showing locally in the hunters and equitation, but seems to prefer the jumpers. He loves to trail ride, hunter pace, and work out in the field by himself or with company. Romeo would be suitable over fences for an intermediate rider working in a program, or will happily pack around a walk trot rider.
