Lilja from Northern Lights is a rare blue-eyed cremello filly, imported in utero from Iceland, with the third highest BLUP of all double cream Icelandic mares in the world. From early on, as shown in her photo at 3 days old, she has been a vibrant and healthy little girl. Her sire is Snillingur frá Íbishóli (8.58 for rideability, 9.5 for pace, 8.46 total.) Her dam, Nánd frá Gauksmýri, is a five-gaited daughter of Skaginn frá Skipaskaga (9 for tölt, pace, spirit and general impression with a 8.73 total) who was awarded first prize for offspring and is father to horses like Valdís frá Auðsholtshjáleigu (8.63 and the only horse to ever get a 10 for head). Skaginn is known to sire beautifully built horses with amazing heads, long well raised necks, great shoulder areas, strong backs and good gaits especially a clean beat tölt in all speeds. This is only a sampling of the amazing horses in Lilja’s pedigree. Lilja is an inquisitive, athletic, and well-mannered filly who has great potential as both a show horse and a broodmare, as all of her offspring will possess at least one cream gene. She has a sweet temperament that will certainly endear her to her own special person.
