Beautiful, 5 year old bay appaloosa mare. She has a good conformation and moves very nicely. She is sound and barefoot. She is usually sweet and fairly calm, but is a bit of a project horse. I got her about a month ago and she’s made progress, but I’m a college student who also works part time so I simply don’t have enough time to continue to train her. I thought I would have time, which is why I bought her, but I unfortunately don’t. She leads nice, loads, good with her feet, pretty good with a bridle, and was ground driven by last owner but I have not tried it. She also is usually pretty easy to catch. Her issue is with the saddle, due to previous owners using an incorrectly fitting saddle. In the time I’ve had her, she has become less afraid of the saddle, but still will tense up a bit and take a little to relax. We have been on her 4 times, with someone on her and someone leading her, and she did pretty good, even though she was a little tense. She usually lunges nice, sometimes will act up a little to see what she can get away with, but if you are firm and keep her going she settles down. She also is currently learning voice commands while lunging, and she learns pretty fast. She just needs more time and consistent work under the saddle and she could make a good horse. Even when she is clearly unhappy she has never made any move to bite or kick at all. Up to date on deworming and vaccines, and had her teeth floated last year.
