Buddy is the ultimate Spanish mustang! He has an absolutely stunning appearance and a build like a brick house, His conformation is top-notch, and he moves just as impressively as he looks. On top of all of that buddy is one of the funniest and most personable horses around the barn, he has quite a goofy personality and will play with anything you give him. He is 100% a barn favorite.
We've taken Buddy everywhere, and he fears nothing—from the hustle and bustle of town life to extreme mountain riding—this horse can truly do it all.
Buddy is so dependable you can hop on bareback with just a neck rope and he will work off of your legs and voice commands! (Check out his video!)
He also bows and lays down on command, will push a beach ball around or kick a soccer ball!
Buddy has been exposed to busy downtown environments at night, complete with cars, bikes, dogs, and crowds. He remains laid-back and obedient, confidently stepping in any direction you point him without hesitation. On the trail, Buddy is a rock-solid mount, handling rough terrain and steep footing with ease. He has encountered bears, deer, foxes, and elk, and has handled every situation like a pro.
In addition to his trail prowess, Buddy excels in arena work. He has a smooth walk, trot, and western pleasure lope, along with a hard stop and easy backup. He's incredibly reliable and suitable for riders of any age or experience level, always taking care of his rider.
Buddy will side pass up to the mounting block to pick you up and has extensive ground manners and tricks!
Buddy is also adept at moving cows and enjoys the sorting game and local brandings! Buddy will carry a flag, tarp, parachute or anything you ask of him as well as go over/ cross anything you like.
Buddy is started hunter jumper and we have hauled to a couple cross country courses as well, he has taken a huge liking to the English world and has an amazing tuck, rate and collection!
We have jumped him 2’6 with room to improve.
He is stout, athletic, and smart, making him a versatile and dependable horse. Buddy loads, stands tied, bathes, saddles, bridles, and is great for the vet and farrier.
