Meet Jess, a stunning 9-year-old Paint gelding, standing at a versatile 14.2 hands. Jess is an exceptional trail horse with a sound mind and reliable temperament, making him a great partner for anyone on the trail. We recently purchased Jess with the hope of incorporating him into a beginner's lesson program, but he wasn’t the right fit for that environment. It turned out he didn't have a lot of experience in an arena -- he was mostly ridden on the trail -- and the lesson program needed someone who could do the arena thing from day one. However, he is an exceptional horse whose strengths truly shine on the trail and could excel in the arena with an intermediate or advanced rider. He has a smooth, easy-to-ride walk, trot, and lope and is trained to pick up both leads, side pass, and back up. He’s been ridden both English and Western and has been started over low jumps—which he enjoys! Jess is well-trained and experienced in various trail settings. He has confidently navigated state parks, overnight camping trips, and even large group rides with hundreds of other horses. Whether you're riding with friends or enjoying a peaceful solo outing, Jess is steady and surefooted. He handles obstacles like creeks and logs effortlessly and is unfazed by new environments. His previous owners also drove him and noted that he drives beautifully, standing patiently to hitch and unhitch. On top of all that, Jess is a bit of a showman! His previous owner taught him fun tricks like laying down, rearing, bowing, and even sitting on a bean bag. He’s excellent for grooming and care—standing quietly for clipping, bathing, and the farrier. If you’re looking for a safe and versatile horse who excels on the trail, Jess is ready for you. Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind gelding!
