Textbook head shaking true walking gait, nice easy athletic rocking canter, has had a beautiful palomino colt, and we have camped/trail ridden her from Tennessee to Texas to Colorado. Callie is easy to ride, will go anywhere with dogs, 4wheelers, traffic, pigs, goats, cattle. I want her to go to an intermediate rider because she is sensitive. I consider beginner horses to be slower reacting, and when you ask Callie to move or turn or halt, she complies immediately. Her gait is exceptional and remarkable, incredibly smooth and she’s sure footed in the mountains. No mare-ish behavior, no kicking at other horses. This mare is a horse rider’s dream, and a perfect mountain horse. Trained to gait or slow canter uphill, your choice, but always slow, tip toe downhill. Straddles logs to mount, loads, bathes, shoes easily. I’d love to see her go to a serious trail rider. With her, you don’t need a spare horse in the mountains. She lives in a stall in the daytime and turned out on pasture at night, 12/8 pellets, grass in summer and hay in winter. Was a perfect mother to her foal. A very nice, comfortable ride.
